VMease REST API: Full-Stack Infrastructure Control
The VMease REST API provides a secure, robust, and developer-friendly interface to the full feature set of the VMease platform. Designed for cloud service providers and advanced users, the API exposes comprehensive control over IaaS resources, enabling automated provisioning, lifecycle management, monitoring, and disaster recovery workflows — all accessible programmatically. Whether you're building a self-service portal, automating provisioning pipelines, or integrating VMease into a larger orchestration platform, the REST API ensures that every part of the infrastructure can be controlled and monitored programmatically with confidence and ease.
IaaS Orchestration
From virtual machine orchestration to multi-tenant networking and backup operations, the REST API reflects the same capabilities available in the VMease GUI. Users can create, modify, migrate, and delete VMs; attach and manage disks; configure startup order; snapshot workloads; and clone or move resources across sites — all through simple, consistent HTTP endpoints. Every infrastructure action is authenticated, logged, and governed by the same RBAC framework as the GUI, ensuring operational consistency and security.
Software Networking Access
n the domain of networking, the API allows fine-grained control of virtual switches, firewall rules, IP address assignments, and tenant-specific routing configurations. CSPs and DevOps teams can automate network provisioning for customers, apply predefined profiles, or generate sandbox environments for test workloads — all with the same REST-based workflows.
Backup & Restore Addressability
The VMease API also includes endpoints for backup and restore management, tightly integrated with Proxmox Backup Server. Administrators can schedule backups, trigger instant restores, monitor retention compliance, and manage backup namespaces for each tenant programmatically. This is ideal for integrating with external portals, customer dashboards, or audit/reporting systems.
Replication API
Additionally, VMease exposes APIs for real-time replication management, including initiating drive-mirror replication between sites, querying replication health, and orchestrating failover. Failover actions, whether to sandboxed or production networks, can be triggered via API and follow the same automated workflows used in the UI — enabling DR automation as part of a broader CI/CD or resilience strategy.
