Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions that come up most when using the VMease WebUI.

Back to documentation

Why is my action stuck on "pending", and where do I see the result?

Most changes in VMease are applied in the background, so the resource shows a pending or in-progress state until the change has finished. The Task Manager on the top bar is where every background operation reports its outcome.

  • Open the Task Manager on the top bar and watch the task progress to completed or failed.
  • A task left in progress past its timeout is automatically retried.
  • See the Errors & task states reference (click here) for the full list of states.

Why can't I see a menu item or page?

The WebUI hides anything your role doesn't have permission for, rather than showing it disabled.

  • If something is missing, your role most likely lacks that permission — ask an administrator, and see the Permissions reference (click here).
  • The entire Platform section is visible to root accounts only, and is hidden while you are working inside a tenant.

Why can't I delete something?

Some resources can only be removed once they are in the right state, or once nothing depends on them.

  • A VM can be deleted only while it is stopped (or still initializing).
  • A storage pool can't be deleted while disks are still placed on it.
  • A network shared to you from a parent account can't be deleted by you.
  • A delete may be queued as a task — check the Task Manager for the outcome.

Why was I signed out?

For security, sessions time out after a period of inactivity. Sign in again to continue — VMease tries to refresh your session automatically before it times out.

Why can't I create a network or a VM yet?

Some resources depend on others existing first.

  • A compute quota must exist before you can create a VNet.
  • A storage pool must exist before disks or VMs can use storage.
  • See Create your first VM (click here) for the full order to follow.
